Kumasi Fort and Military Museum

The Kumasi Fort and Military Museum is situated in Kumasi, the capital city of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It is one of the few military museums in Africa. Constructed by the Asantehene (the King of the Asante Kingdom) in 1820, the fort was destroyed in 1874 by the British forces and renovated 23 years later. Come and dive into our history!

Limassol Castle Cyprus Medieval Museum

Limassol Medieval Castle in the center of Limassol old town was constructed in the 13th century and it is said to have been built on the site where Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre and crowned her Queen of England in 1191. Until 1950, the castle's basement was used as a prison but has now been converted into a museum.

Fort Apollonia was built by the British between 1765 and 1771, to ward off Dutch colonial ambitions. The abolition of the slave trade in the Gold Coast diminished the importance of the fort, as a result it became too expensive, so the British abandoned it in 1819 after which, the Dutch took ownership over the fort in 1868.
