Friends Across Borders - POSTPONED TO 2021

26 Sep 2020

=== Event has been cancelled ===

Friends Across Borders – POSTPONED TO 2021. For the 3rd time, musicians will come together on one stage in Northern Cyprus for a good cause however, part of it will be by live broadcasting as FAB will comply with COVID-19 limitations of course. All contributions from the ticket sales will be donated to Help Those with Cancer Association TULIPS.

For the third time The Soulist – Coffee and Music House was planning a 3-day Music Festival Friends Across Borders (FAB) from 25th to 27th of September 2020. However, in view of the restrictions following the COVID-19 issues, this is now POSTPONED TO 2021. Also the concept needs to be adjusted whereby some of the artist will perform using a live broadcasting link rather than being able to travel across in person. So, within limitations, musicians from both sides of Cyprus will come together on one stage in aid of Help Those with Cancer Association TULIPS. The casting is extended by Bands from the Netherlands and Scotland joining in as well.

But keep an eye on this posting as things may develop with whatever COVID throws at us!

All proceeds of the charity tickets will be donated to the association. The theme of this festival is “Cancer and Music have no Boundaries“.

High quality Blues, Blues-Rock, Rock, Reggae, Jazz and Classic Live Music will be the main focus throughout the weekend.

“Friends Across Borders (FAB)“ was founded by Roland Eyerich (German Blues & Rock DJ from Bayrak International) and musician Alper Cengiz (The Soulist Coffee and Music House).

Roland is also a former social worker. “He is committed to the Ethos of Social Work to overcoming borders and building bridges against fears and breaking down prejudices in the divided Island of Cyprus with music.” (cyprusccene.com)

With the help of his musical competence and his personal commitment, this cross-border and bi-communal project finally has become possible. This year Roland and Musicians from both sides of Cyprus apply with the social project “Friends Across Borders“ for the Stelios Bi-communal Awards 2019. The Stelios Bi-communal Awards have been in operation on the island of Cyprus since 2009. The idea is to encourage bi-communal cooperation between Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots in order to promote lasting peace on the island.
